Do you need protein after working out?
hearts desire 4.jpg

According to WebMD, its a good idea to eat protein after a workout to help your muscles recover and grow. And doesn’t matter what form your protein takes - be it a hard boiled egg, slice of chicken, milk, yoghurt, or a protein shake. I’ve become a fan of Atkins Protein Plus shakes (chocolate, thank you!) with 30 grams of protein, 7 grams of fiber and 1 gram net carb. I work out in the morning and have one of these within a half an hour of my workout. Its my breakfast substitute - it keeps me satisfied and it keeps me from snacking on some unhealthy alternative.

Also, its recommended to drink a glass of water prior to working out (as well as additional water during an intense or prolonged workout) to keep yourself hydrated.

I hope this helps keep you on track for 2020!

Aphrodite’s Lavender Dreams Design

Aphrodite’s Lavender Dreams Design

At Embodywear Fashions each of our designs are named after a Goddess. The philosophy behind this is that by wearing one of our designs, you are embodying the characteristics of that Goddess; you are honoring that part of yourself – your Goddess within.

This is the second in a monthly series of posts that will add a little more depth about the virtues of each Goddess, and this month we are honoring Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love and Beauty.

Aphrodite - Goddess of Love and Beauty

February is the month of love and what greater way to celebrate with Aphrodite, the Greek Goddess of love and beauty (and pleasure and passion…) Aphrodite’s main festival, the Aphrodesisia, is celebrated across Greece on the fourth day of the month, so here we are on the fourth of February, honoring her.

Aphrodite, the Greek Goddess of love beauty, pleasure, passion and fertility, is regarded by some to be the ruler of emotions, erotic spirituality, creativity, and art.  She is said to have excited passion in the hearts of men and gods, and by this power ruled over all living creations, and to have the power of granting beauty and invincible charms to others. She was beautiful, enchanting, and infinitely desirable.

Our design, Lavender Beauty, is infused with shades of lavender. The color lavender represents refinement, elegance, and grace. Lavender colored roses are a sign of love at first sight and are used as expressions of romantic feelings and intentions – they can also represent wonder, possibility with a sense of the magical. A seemingly fitting tribute to associate with Aphrodite.

Aphrodite’s second design, Springs Desire, is infused with the colors of the first blush and buds of spring – pastel pinks, lavender, strawberry and roses making the ultimate statement of feminine desirability.

No matter which design you choose, when you wear our Aphrodite collections, you will be celebrating your inner Aphrodite – your elegance, grace, passions, and desirability.

The Aphrodite Collections will be on sale with a 10% discount throughout the month of February.

About our Fabulous Fabrics!
Katie 016.jpeg

Our leggings and capris are made from polyester (88%) and spandex (12%) for a full compression fit - they hug you in all the right places and hold their shape and color even after multiple washings. The fabric contains eco-friendly fibers that use much less energy and water during the manufacturing process.

In addition to a great fit - our leggings and capris are super easy to care for - just machine wash in cold water and tumble dry! The fabric is naturally quick dry so you won’t have to wait long before wearing your favorite leggings again.’

Enjoy!

The Goddesses – Part 1: Honoring Aditi

At Embodywear Fashions each of our designs are named after a Goddess. The philosophy behind this is that by wearing one of our designs, you are embodying the characteristics of that Goddess; you are honoring that part of yourself – your Goddess within.

This is the first in a monthly series of posts that will add a little more depth about the virtues of each Goddess.

First up is Goddess Aditi!

Hindu Goddess of boundlessness

Aditi is a Hindu, Vedic Goddess, who’s Sanskrit name translates to limitless, or boundless – she represents the infinite sky and the boundlessness of time and space.  She is the goddess of the sky, consciousness, the past, the future, and fertility. She has birthed celestial dieties. She is the celestial mother of every existing form and being, the synthesis of all things.  She is the keeper of light that illuminates all life and ensures consciousness.

I titled my design “Aditi’s Celestial Starlight” because the deep violet color suggested deep space, the streaks of silver starbursts, and the silver circles centers of energies – the energies just waiting to burst open, forming new planets, new ideas, and forward thinking.

When you adorn yourself with Aditi’s Celestial Starlight collection, you are embodying your inner cosmic creatrix, celebrating your inner luminescence, ready to give birth to your new ideas, and forward thinking, from a heightened level of consciousness: a perfect way to start the new year.

In honor of Aditi, her collection is sale priced at 10% off until the next edition of The Goddesses posts in February.
